This is Not What Belongs in a Recycle Yard

An observant customer happened to peek inside a shredded paper bin at a recycling facility in O'Fallon, Missouri, and much to their surprise sticking out like a sore thumb against the white paper strips was an orange and white kitten. Weighing only 2-7/8 ounces Benny is right on the line between being a preemie and a full-term kitten.

Why his mother was not with him we have no idea. It's also puzzling why she would leave her kitten in such a noisy and bustling place. Usually, cats seek out a quiet location where their babies will not be discovered. In this case, it's a good thing though because someone was in the right place at the right time to be able to gently pick up Benny and get him to us.

This bundle of orange and white fur has been with us a couple days and his Foster Care Provider says he's holding his own. Let's just hope this continues to be the case.
