She's Just a Speck of a Kitten

Charlotte fits in your hand and that is where you want to keep her. Protecting her from the world around her. Before this 2-day old kitten was taken in by one of our Foster Care Volunteers, she was out in that world alone. Found behind an abandoned building in St. Louis, unprotected, she had to be so afraid and desperately looking for her food source - her mother.

A horribly bad day turned good when a couple somehow managed to spot Charlotte, who was so tiny it would have been easy to just pass her by. Like so many people who find abandoned kittens they were not sure what to do next. They did know they had to do something though. A call was made to the Humane Society of Missouri, and they pointed the couple in our direction, and they headed to one of our foster's homes with instructions to keep Charlotte warm.

We will continue to prepare this little girl to return to that big world out there. Only she will be bigger, older, stronger and know what it feels like to be loved.
