Not the Start They Deserved

If you were just two days old, born premature and ended up with your sisters and brothers alone in a scorching hot abandoned building, it would be understandable to feel your life was not off to a good start.
That is how Macie, Mannie, Margaret and Morgan's story began. If it wasn't for a Good Samaritan who came along and scooper up the four babies, their lives would have started and ended in that building. Instead, they found themselves in a much different place. A refuge where all their needs would be met. The home of one of our SNUGGLE Pet Rescue Foster Care Volunteers.
Not long after the four arrived on July 17, the two girls passed away. Mannie passed away a few hours later. Maybe if the sisters and their brother had been found earlier, they could have been saved, but considering they were underweight preemies they would still have had an incredibly tough journey ahead.
It doesn't take days for our team to fall in love with our kittens and puppies. It happens instantly. That's why it hurts so much when another kitten or puppy's life ends too soon. We can't help but feel angry at how unfair it is. If only they had never been born.
Morgan is now the sole survivor from the litter. He weighs more than his siblings but not by much. We are hoping that it's just enough though to give him a better chance at living to see another day, another week, another month and hopefully years of being a happy and healthy, well-loved cat. We are going to continue to do everything within our power to give Morgan a story that has a happy ending.
