When a manager was inspecting an apartment, a tenant had just vacated, she found something out of the ordinary. A single, one day old kitten without a mother. We have named the apartment dweller Captain Jack and he’s now rooming with three of our other kittens, one of which is Sprout who we introduced you to yesterday. Even though he is the smallest in the group we are encouraged because he is showing every sign of being one of our survivors.

So often we wish each new arrival could tell us their story, but we usually end up with lots of missing pieces. Like how did Captain Jack end up alone in an apartment? We’ll never know, but what we do know is there are people who’ll go out of their way to save animals, and we have met a lot of them in the past 21 years.

These are the people who care enough to want updates on who they rescued. We write about as many of them on our Facebook page as we can, but unfortunately time runs short especially this time of the year when we receive new kittens or puppies almost every day. In the last week we have gotten 10 new arrivals, all of which are requiring hours of extra attention around the clock.
