Those Folded Ears Are Cute but Not a Good Sign

Scottish Fold and Osteochondrodysplasic

That cute ear fold in Scottish Folds is caused by a mutation in the cartilage gene. Sadly, it affects the whole body—not just ears. Can lead to painful arthritis, joint swelling, and bone deformities, especially if both parents carry the gene.

Important: Responsible breeders should never mate two folded-ear cats.
