Understanding the Unique Traits and Risks Behind Those Cute Whiskers.


Not all quirks in cats are just personality. Some are rooted in genetics. While many of these traits make cats look extra special, they can sometimes lead to health issues. Here are one of the most common genetic conditions found in cats:


1. Polydactyly (Extra Toes)


What it is:

Cats born with extra toes — more than 18 total!

Fun fact: Nicknamed "Hemingway cats" because the famous author had many.


Health impact:

Usually harmless.
